UNESCO as the “protector” of Techno?

Why do we think that this is an absurd, and weak move, led by unreliable individuals?

We firmly believe that UNESCO is definitely not the solution. This is because it is clear how in its 76 years, the organization hasn’t made any progress for the arts and cultural sector whatsoever, never mind Club Culture.

What is UNESCO credential with regards to its knowledge of Club Culture?! It’s simple. None.

Furthermore, by utilizing the words of an alleged sexual assailant supporter, or those of a venue owner in which discrimination and racial abuse have been exposed, or mentioning a venue in which COVID has been spread, and private plague raves have occurred during the lockdowns, as some kind of promotion kit for this by promotors of such initiative, shows the terrible state of the scene, and the real intentions behind it, which are to create a monopoly around Techno, transforming it from being for the many to becoming for the few, selected ones.

A process which is already largely in vigor, if we consider the programs that music venues, and festivals, create, which include the same people over and over again, the inadequate fees they pay to those whom are not part of such niche, the inadequate safety measures they have, and the rising ticket prices they ask.

What we need is a dedicated body working solely within Club Culture, a once in a lifetime opportunity where the Club Culture, as a whole, is finally recognized for the great contributions that it makes to every city, region, and country, and where positive changes towards a more sustainable, safe, equal, diverse and protected environments can be implemented.

That’s what the World Club Culture Organization aims to do, by including various stakeholders in such discussions and changes for the better.
