COVID Is Not Over
October 2022
Two years after the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic (at least in the western hemisphere), it is clear that we never came out of it, with multiple waves, repeated infections, and deaths, with prolonged long-COVID concerns, and symptoms.
Yet, Club Culture in most areas of the world - as in any other business-centric, and capitalist sector - have continuously neglected to implement adequate health and safety measures, while announcing quite ridiculous phone bans.
This, as UK Covid cases jump 30% in a week to 1.7million, with the University of Oxford’s Leverhulme Center for Demographic Science and the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research, indicating that COVID-19 has caused a protracted shock to life expectancy levels, leading to global mortality changes unprecedented in the last 70 years.
It has been reported that almost 10,000 hospital patients, in the uk, have tested positive which is at its highest for two months, with 224,000 cases a day.
The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control has indicated that fifteen countries in the region are reporting increasing cases with the highest new infection rates in austria, belgium, france, germany, latvia, and liechtenstein.
Furthermore, as the World Health Organization indicates, europe is the worst-affected region of the world, followed by the americas, and the western pacific.
As such, it is clear that if Club Culture truly wants to thrive in the long-term, becoming a healthy, credible, and invaluable eco-system, a number of very important measures will have to be taken.
